When I got home from the hospital today, the latest English translation of a Haruki Murakami novel was waiting in my mailbox: 'After Dark'. The first few pages are great; too bad I have to study! :(
Hmm, Amazon says that it isn't out for another week! :)

Studying? mmm let me think... oh yeah studying! ;-) I'm sorry you can't read your book, I've spent some time in libraries to buy a good book for the next few days/weeks he he he!
Still in surgery?
So After Dark is out already? I should order it. It has been a while. Actually, thinking of it- i still have your Kafka on the Shore! Oops! Sorry!g
Yes, still in surgery. One more week of ortho, then a week of urology, then four of general.
I was on call again yesterday. I need a vacation!
Yes, it's out, at least up in Canada. So that's where my book went!!! :)
I finished reading 'After Dark'. It was pretty good, although on the short side (actually, that's good, given the free time I currently have for such diversions).
It's also the first Murakami novel I've read that seemed like it could easily be turned into a movie. I have no idea how the short story 'Tony Takitani' was every made into a movie; I haven't seen it yet.
Pretty helpful piece of writing, thanks so much for your post.
