Hockey

He had walked the razor's edge between life and death, and he knew it; a dozen strangers had formed a human chain to reach into Hell and pull him back into the land of the living. As consciousness returned, he struggled to ask one question of the doctors hovering over him:

"Did the Flames win last night?"

Tell me you're kidding... is that a true story a disguised one?
Well written btw ;)

Oh, it's true all right. The only question is what the phrasing of the question was; he may have said, "The Flames... did they win last night?" which would have been more dramatic. Of course, none of us knew the hockey scores, so we were unable to answer his question...

Having experienced flames fever first hand I can well believe this story...

Great post!

Well Mary, after Guy Lafleur retired, I gave up hockey in mourning.

I sometimes tell people, "I don't understand why everyone here is such a big fan of Atlanta." but nobody gets my joke.

I do actually have two hockey sticks in my apartment at the moment... just in case I get called up by the Canadiens.

Shamoo is dead? :(

I had a friend that carried his skates and a hockey stick in the trunk of his car all winter; just in case a pick up game broke out. I thought it was eccentric but a little silly. A few weeks later we were in Banff and he ended up playing with a bunch of kids on an outdoor rink.

I've been to banff!

It was cold, grey and trying to snow. I had dinner in the smallest restaurant I have ever seen.

I think hockey is to Canadians what football is to the English. (That is REAL football, sometimes known as soccer).

have you given up on your blog? Don't tell me you don't have anything interesting to say... ok, maybe you're too tired, I can understand that.

Yeah, life was quite predictable for a while there...
